How to Play Duck Duck Goose

To play Duck Duck Goose, players sit in a circle facing each other. One player is chosen to be the "goose" and stands in the center of the circle. The goose walks around the outside of the circle, tapping each player on the head and saying "duck" or "goose." When the goose says "goose," that player must get up and chase the goose around the circle. The goose tries to run around the circle and sit down in the empty spot before the player chasing them tags them. If the goose is tagged, they become the new goose. If the goose successfully sits down, the player who was chasing them becomes the new goose.

Variations of Duck Duck Goose

There are many variations of Duck Duck Goose. Some common variations include:

Musical Duck Duck Goose: This variation is played with music. The goose walks around the outside of the circle, tapping each player on the head and saying "duck" or "goose." When the music stops, the goose must say "goose" and the player who is tapped must chase the goose.
Blind Duck Duck Goose: This variation is played with a blindfold. The goose is blindfolded and walks around the outside of the circle, tapping each player on the head and saying "duck" or "goose." The player who is tapped must chase the goose.
